Habitatio is made by Fusion Atelier B.V., a company registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the app. Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies as well, and where the two disagree, Apple's terms win for anything about the App Store itself.
Your account
Your account is yours, not your household's. Keep your sign-in to yourself. You can be a member of one place at a time; leaving a place is what frees you to join another.
Places, and who runs them
Whoever creates a place runs it. That person sets the house rules, gives out rooms and the share each room carries, and decides who is a member. They can hand the place to another member, who has to accept it.
Rooms are assigned by whoever runs the place. Nobody assigns themselves a room, and until you have one you carry no share of the bills.
The subscription
A place is paid for by whoever runs it, one subscription per place, and every member of that place gets the app while it is paid for.
- It renews every month until it is cancelled, and it is charged to your Apple Account.
- Cancel it yourself in Settings on your device, at least 24 hours before the month ends. We cannot cancel it for you.
- If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid month.
- The price you see in the app is the store's own price for where you are, and includes tax where the store charges it.
- Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours.
If a place changes hands, the new admin starts their own subscription; a subscription cannot be moved between Apple Accounts. The place keeps running on the month already paid for.
When a subscription ends the place locks. Nothing is deleted: the wall, the rota, the receipts and everything else come back the moment somebody subscribes again.
Money in this app is a record, not a payment
Habitatio writes down what a household spends and works out who owes what. It does not move money, hold money, or act as a payment service. Settle up between yourselves, and treat what the app shows as a shared note rather than a statement of account.
The forecasts, meaning what the place is about to run out of and what a month is likely to cost, are worked out from what has already happened here. They are guesses, offered as a convenience, and nothing more.
What you write here
What you write stays yours. You give us only what we need to run the app: to store it, and to show it to the people in your place.
Do not put anything here that is unlawful, that you have no right to share, or that is meant to harass somebody. We can suspend an account that does.
Changes, and ending it
We may add to the app, change it, or stop parts of it. If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will say so before you carry on.
You can stop using Habitatio whenever you like, and delete your account from your profile. What you owed the place stays on the place's ledger; leaving is not a way to clear a debt.
Liability
We do our best to keep the app working and your household's data safe, but the app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer, which the law gives you whatever this document says.
Which law
Dutch law applies, and the courts of Amsterdam have jurisdiction, except where the law of the country you live in says otherwise for consumers.
